NHCOA Capitol Hill Briefing & Advocacy Day

Every year, NHCOA travels to different regions of the country to take the pulse of the Hispanic older adult population and presents the Status of Hispanic Older Adults, a data and testimonial-driven status report with policy recommendations that captures the hardships and challenges arising from the lack of policies, programs, and strategies to address the aging and diversification of our U.S population. Starting in 2014, NHCOA has hosted a Capitol Hill briefing to launch the report, in addition to an Advocacy Day during which members of the NHCOA Leaders Network conduct visits with Members of Congress to advocate on behalf of the needs of Hispanic older adults across the country. These intergenerational leaders represent seniors, family members, caregivers, professionals, and community advocates from across the country.

For sponsorship opportunities, please contact Maria Eugenia Hernandez-Lane at (202) 347-9733 or write mlane@nhcoa.org.

NHCOA is proud to release the report, Status of Hispanic Older Adults: Recommendations from the Field. This is a data- driven and testimonial report focused on the 2015 White House Conference on Aging themes including: Retirement Security, Access to Long-Term Services and Supports, Healthy Aging and Financial Exploitation.

The 2014 NHCOA Capitol Hill briefing to release the State of Hispanic Older Adults: Stories from the Field report was possible thanks to the support of Lilly, CVS Health, AARP, Comcast, Wellpoint, PhARMA, Pfizer, and Verizon.

NHCOA National Summits (Past National Events)
